Ottawa Election 2026
Ahead of Ottawa's municipal election, I partnered with Synapcity to launch a series of zines for the election to turn the focus towards the ward councillor elections and generate some excitement for the election season. My hope with this zine series is that folks will get excited about voting and feel a little more empowered to make a decision about who they want representing them in the next city council.
Out of the 85 councillor candidates, 60 responded to our questionnaire1 and their unedited responses are included in the zines linked below.
Curious about where you can find the zines in the wild? Check out our interactive map!

For further transparency, we pulled the candidates' contact information from the City of Ottawa list of certified and acclaimed candidates and used this as a resource to fill gaps when possible (specifically regarding sharing candidates' websites when they didn't participate in our questionnaire). For the candidates who didn't share contact information through this City of Ottawa channel, we managed to find some of their emails elsewhere but not all.↩
